Known for her cool, elegant portrayals and dazzling beauty, Hedy Lamarr became an international sensation with 1933's Ecstasy, a Czech film in which she appeared completely nude and simulated an orgasm. After escaping her Nazi-sympathizing husband, she came to Hollywood and appeared in many hit films -- 1938's Algiers, 1939's Lady of the Tropics, 1942's White Cargo, and 1949's Samson and Delilah to name just a few.
