It's safe to say that Anna May Wong was the only Asian star in Hollywood in the 1920's and 1930's, and no doubt her incredible beauty helped her to attain that status. Her break as a Mongol slave in 1924's The Thief of Baghdad led her to many film successes. Among them are 1926's A Trip to Chinatown, 1927's The Devil Dancer, 1932's Shanghai Express, and 1938's Dangerous to Know.
